My Mom and Dad in Livingstone

Thankfully, we left Mongu with a bit more style than how we arrived Our pilot, Don Amborski, and
me in the cockpit
A shot of Livingstone from above
A view of the floodplains
You can just make out the Zambezi on the top right hand corner
Another shot of the river from the plane It's really amazing how much the river really does flood
A look at Victoria Falls (the city) on the Zimbabwean side The Zambezi is a whole lot wider here near the falls than it is in Mongu  All these little islands are great for camping and exploring
The first glimpse of Victoria Falls
Right at the brink
(What follow are just a lot of ariel shots of the falls, because when would you ever see this view again? or ever!)
-
You can see the bridge to the Zimbabwe side and the Batoka gorge

The gorge really snakes back and
forth in a very interesting way

Leaving the Falls to land in Livingstone
Dad and I at the start of Mosi-O-Tunya
Mosi-O-Tunya
Or Vitoria Falls

"The Smoke that Thunders"
The bridge to Zimbabwe and the beginning of the Batoka gorge
There's kind of a Niagra Falls
look going on, ne?
The Zimbabwe side
Most people say that the
Zimbabwean side is nicer...
But I'm kinda partial to the Zambian side
It's very dark, but I just couldn't resist a picture of my parents at Victoria Falls
Is this what David Livingstone saw?
At the top of the Falls
Just nearly at the brink
I'd get arrested for doing this at Niagra Falls (I wish we had a photo of the guys swimming just near where I'm standing)
Mosi-O-Tunya game park.
Finding Rhinos
Two Rhinos
(Gumboot and Mama)
Three Rhinos
(We actually found everyone but George. There are five rhinos in Zambia)
A stunned Impala
Zebra and Impala
Hey look!
There's an elephant!!
Oooh, he's coming this way
Wow, he's really close!
He's passing right in front
of our vehicle!!!
Elephants are terribly destructive animals
A shot of the Zambezi. We actually
had lunch inside the park.
We finally saw my favourite.
A giraffe.
He was so cute I had to take two!
Our boat for the sunset cruise
Taonga Safari
There is a hippo there somewhere
This elephant was throwing water into the bushes...
and we couldn't figure out
what was going on...
Until it chased a croc and it's baby
out from the grass
This is our best hippo picture. They are really hard to photograph!
This is the Crocodile Farm at Livingstone
The last morning, Mom and I left Dad sleeping and went to see the Crocs
The staff here respond to complaints of man-eating crocs...
go to the Zambezi, fish them out and bring them to this farm...
where their eggs are harvested for leather and meat.
The big guy in the corner is something like nine feet long!
