May Scripture Union Camp

Preparing our first breakfast in Sefula with Prisca, Wamundila and Muhali Our full dining hall with our
more than 250 students
Waiting in the interminably
long line for lunch
We had to call them by Bible Study groups to prevent a mob scene Service with a smile
(mostly!)
After a few skirmishes,
the High Table lives on
Lucky : "Don't cut me!!!"
During the camp, Lucky was preoccupied with the fear that he was being cut from all the pictures
Down to the Marrow
(My favourite picture of our guest speaker, Pastor Joseph Kasoka)
A good shot of nshima
(Check out the freaky way Miss Mwape's sleeve hits the window)
Who needs utensils?!
The small girl is Waami, the
daughter of Pastor Shilayi
It's tough being cool when
you're enjoying yourself
-
Here we see Miss Nanzaluka stealing
the spotlight from Miss Mwape
Nicholas pauses long enough for a smile
How sad is this picture?  Besides
Dorothy,  the table is slanted
but we're perfectly straight?
Every morning we got up before the
sun for "Rise and Shine" We rose,
but not many of us shone!
One morning the moon was still out
Nico leads his group in some
stretching exercises
Even Uncle K (green shirt), our Area Chairman, participated at Rise and Shine
Wamundila (far left) was one of
the few Senior Friends who
enjoyed the early mornings
Praise and Worship in the Hall
Team Bonding Games
We asked them to make a pyramid ...
but not every group was successful!
Who's camera are we looking at?
Chapa and his young dancers
"Cutest Photo of the Camp"

My Bible Study Group
Finally, Miss Mwape gets her own photo
The famous "Cabinet"
(or is that infamous?)
"Light you candle,
out in the darkness ...."
Spontaneous worship before a session
Ready? Set? Dance!
"I'm searching, searching
Here, There..."
Dorothy TRIES to organize
people for outdoor games
Hands up!
No Cheating!!!
Great Action Shot
The Senior Friends line up
for the water relay.
Winner gets wet!
Becca : "I'll hold him, and you douse!"
Elder Mumbwa's
Crazy Intersection Game
Nico is embarrassed by this picture attempt, so naturally it had to be here
It's a tough job making nshima
for 250 people
Water Balloon Fight Aftermath
Boy's Table
Lucky : "Don't cut me!!"
Our small troublesome boys
: )
Happy-Go-Lucky stands with Stoic
These boys were here looking for
scraps every day, so on the last night
we filled each of their bowls
Doesn't the girl on the right look
a bit like Laurie Castellani
Muhali, Lucky and Nico chillin' out
An intent Chapa and an
unimpressed Dorothy
Me, taking over from my "twin" brother
Four of our Kaoma girls packing up to go home after a great week at camp
This girl actually painted her tooth using Dorothy's nail polish!
Our Wonderful Kaoma Group
A truck full of Scripture Union members
See you next year!
Yeah, that's how we all felt, but it was a really good week and I enjoyed being a part of my first SU camp!
